Geekiest Service Ever

It occured to me that Daddy's most common complaint of me is how I forget so much stuff. That his orders, or stuff he prefers, just doesn't seem to stick. My brain decides "You know, I should write all this down, make a book so I can remember everything"

My inner geek decides "Or, you could make a wiki for the house, and put everything on there." My inner geek won out, and our media box is now also running a house wiki over our network. I was setting this up while Daddy and Sis were doing their renegotiations (which I will talk about tomorrow), and Daddy suddenly pipes up "Is that a wiki for the house? That's a great idea".

Geekiest. Service. Ever.

Finding Service

Recently, me and Daddy have been talking about the services I give to him.

With Sister now being around our house more often, she's started to take over the cleaning of the house. This is leading to a few awkward issues, because part of my service to Daddy is taking care of the basic chores, such as putting the dishes in the dishwasher, and doing the laundry.

But, as has been a constant issue, I'm not good at doing these things unprompted. I'm so often not present, away in my head playing video games, or in one of my other hobbies, that I don't tend to get around to doing these chores until I'm asked. Sister is not the same - she's engaged in service for most of her attention, so she  sees something that needs to be done and does it straight away. Whereas in my case, service tends to happen when Daddy breaks me out of my attention, and points out those chores to me.

This often means that my chores are done long before I'd normally do them at the end of the night. Not an ideal situation.

But this is something that we've been dealing with for years. It's always been the case that I don't do things unless prompted (sometimes prompted several times), and I can't compete in service against someone who has the presence of mind to do things without asking.

Daddy has been talking about perhaps moving my chores to Sister instead, and to be honest that makes me a little anxious. When he mentioned it to me previously I reacted almost violently to it. The reason, really, is that I also want service in my life. Those little chores I do, even though they're not much, are as much about me serving Daddy.

And yes, there's plenty of other services I do. The fact that I work, in a job that earns a lot of money, is just one of those services, but it doesn't feel like service to me. I'd be doing it regardless of whether it benefited Daddy. And as a result of that feeling, I don't tend to feel like I'm in service to Daddy unless it's something I do for him at home.

Now that I've had some time to think about it, though, there are other things that I can do that help Daddy, perhaps even more than chores. Things like going out and doing food shopping, things like chauffeuring Daddy to events, like cleaning his car... The big things that I do for him that aren't exactly regular, but are there when Daddy needs them. The things that me being an able-bodied person means I'm able to do for him, saving him the energy to do things that he wants and needs to do more.

I think it's clear that I have to play to my strengths here. I'm just not going to be the sort of service sub that can be set up and left to their own devices. I think instead, I need to focus on being the sort of service sub that is able to get up and do things when instructed. I can do that, I've done that before. It means that I'm the go-to person when things need to be done now, rather than the person in the background that gets things done without thinking. The concierge, rather than the dogsbody, if that makes sense.

Perhaps that's a better way of distributing the service duties in a fair manner. As long as there's things that do need doing right now, and they happen frequently enough, I think I could be satisfied with that sort of arrangement. What I want is the feeling that I'm serving Daddy, and I want to do things often enough that I don't feel like I'm abandoning Daddy. I think I can go back to Daddy on this.

Not gonna be a bro

A few months ago, Daddy had a rant to me about how much people raised as women are dealt a whole lot more restrictions about interaction, and "being on best behaviour". I'd just come back from the family Christmas lunch, with my very, very straight and non-queer family.

As my Daddy pointed out to me, at family gatherings, men aren't expected, really, to do any of the cleaning, or hosting, etc. Now, I used to buck that rule a lot, and you'd often find me in the kitchen with the women helping to prepare the meals, or working to help clean up the house. But the last few months have seen me stop that, and become a lot more slack at gatherings.

And as we talked about this, I realised more and more that this was not the kind of person I wanted to be. I don't want to be on the couch while the wimmin do everything. That's not who I am, and not really who I was raised to be.

It lead to a new little slogan, which I am now trying to incorporate into my life: "I don't wanna be a bro". The term "Bro" is often used with all the man-child connotations, with all the lack of responsibility that men are given because they just don't know any better. Well screw that. I am not a bro, I refuse to be a bro, I will not be a bro. Not the least because it goes against everything the Leather culture teaches, but it also goes against the submission that I strive for. I am there to serve, and while only me Daddy gets the right to be served, my service is a gift that I wish to bless the world with. I will not be a man who just lets the world serve him, I will not be a boy who lets his parents clean up for him.

I will not be a bro. I will be a Boy.

Taking Care of your Daddy.

In the last week me and Daddy took a roadtrip to see his family, and coming back, I noticed a few things that I needed to get around to doing with his car.

This is interesting for a few reasons. I am not a car-minded person, as might be shown with my car, and how little attention I pay to it. But Daddy's car? I'm all up on how that car runs. I see every little indicator, I know exactly what needs doing, I have even been seen under the hood, replacing fuels and checking things.

And I only realised recently how differently I treat my car and Daddy's car. I will learn things and do things that I never would have bothered to do for my car. I keep fluids topped up, check tyre pressures. All the things you're supposed to check on your car, I do for Daddy's car.

When I think about it, it's a very obvious analogy to my relationship with my Daddy. So often, I won't do something unless I can make it in service to my Daddy. Chores? I'll do them in service to my Daddy, but never in service to myself. Taking care of myself is couched in terms of how it makes my Daddy's life better. And of course, I'm more attentive to my Daddy's car because keeping his car running is an essential part of making sure his life is running well.

I'm sure I'm being more than a little selfish in this regard. But in a way it kindof works. I take care of my Daddy's needs, and in return he makes sure my needs are being met. We can be each other's guardians, make sure that each of us have what we need, where we'd often ignore the important bits if we were left to ourselves. We can give each other permission to break rules, to be slack if we have to, to take breaks, or to push ourselves hard when we have to. Daddy does it by ordering me around, I do it by making sure my Daddy has my fullest support when he needs it, and has my advice at all times.

Sometimes I wonder if I need my Daddy more than he needs me. Certainly, I seem to have gained a lot more in terms to self-power than he has. Or perhaps we need each other just as much, in just enough.

Hooked Up

Last Sunday, me and Daddy went over to Hooked Up (a Hook Suspension event by The Hanged Man team) at Sircuit. Daddy was helping a friend of ours (actually the New Boy's Sir), and so I went along to help, and to hang out with a lot of our friends.

To be honest, I've loved going to Hooked Up events - at every event, there's this electric energy in the air, Everytime someone goes up in the air, the place erupts into cheers, as people push themselves, as newcomers to the events first look horrified, and then by the end of it are firmly hooked on the whole event as anyone else there.

My Daddy was helping The New Boy's Sir with a phenomenal pull, where his Mistress was suspended via rope, and then attached to his hooks. The New Boy's Sir would then crawl away from his Mistress, who would then be lifted into the air, all the while Daddy was doing energy exchange within the whole rig. It was absolutely phenomenal to watch, and while I'm usually hopeless in sensing the energy in the room, even I could feel the pulse of that scene. It was simply incredible, even if my job was mostly as roadie.

I have to admit to having mixed feelings about hook suspension. There's a part of me that really wants to give it a try, but I'm an absolute pansy - pain is not my game at all. I even have difficulty with a lot of rope suspensions, I'm not sure I'd be up for going up by hooks. But the fantasy, that rather appeals to me. Maybe one day, way, way, waaaaaay in the future, when I've conquered a few more of my fears, when I'm a little braver, when I can take a little more pain.

Then, maybe, we'll see what I'm made of.

Back in Service

The Broken Elbow has led to a very different last few weeks, where I've been released somewhat from a lot of my duties, owing to the fact that I'm not able to do them. It means that I've been stopped from driving places, I've not been able to do dishes or a great deal of cleaning up the house, etc.

And then, last week, I had my wisdom teeth taken out, and from that point Daddy really was being his Daddy best and taking care of me, while I was out of my gourd stoned on painkillers. It's very hard to be of service to your Daddy when you're completely out of it on codeine, while you're waiting for the holes in your gums to close up.

But finally, today, the sling came off. Six long weeks of being cooped up, of effectively having my wings tied up, and today I was finally able to be free. In celebration of this fact, I have been running around the house like a madman getting the place cleaned up after six weeks of letting the place go a little. Washing is still going through the washing machine, Dishes have been done, my room is getting much, much tidier now, and clothes have been folded and put away.

And, you know, blog posts are being done. That's also a very important duty.

But the biggest and most important this was how happy it's all made me. Being able to run around and do those housework things that belong to me has made me so very, very happy, so much that I've been literally dancing with joy all over the house. I feel like a whole bunch of tension has just been worked out of me, for which I am so very happy for.

Being a Roadie

Me and Daddy have often joked that my role in our relationship often seems to be Roadie - the person who carries all the equipment, who helps clean up and set up, etc.

But, between you and I, reader, this is a role that I cherish.

For without me, Daddy would not get to play with his rope with nearly as many people, for nearly as long. Me assisting in coiling his rope, me helping lug rope and other things to events, me helping hold and hoist people as needed... It's not that my Daddy couldn't do without my aid. But he certainly wouldn't be able to do as much without me.

And that's what a Boy is supposed to do - I'm supposed to use my skills and talents to assist my Daddy to be the best Daddy he can be. The Daddy/Boy relationship is a two-way street. And while sometimes, I feel like I take a lot from my Daddy in terms of emotional needs (and hell, the whole training me to be less shit at life thing), it can be easy to forget that I serve him in any number of other needs as well.

But that's what I do, and I do it well, and with love.

Day 2: Your Kinks

Part of my 30 Days of Kink

Day 2: List your kinks.

Good lord, this could take some time. I could just list my BDSM Checklist here, but I think I'll just focus on my big kinks.

First up - I'm a huge sensation slut, for touch in particular. Touch is probably one of my most aware sensations in any play. Alas, my pain tolerance is quite low, so while I love sensation, I have a rocky relationship with pain. I like warm, cold (to an extent), scratchy and soft, all the major feely groups.

The one exception to this is CBT. It's not necessarily that I can deal with more pain in that area (although apparently I can to an extent), but the extremity of sensation that CBT can give to me is a wonderful, beautiful thing. I'm looking forward to engaging in more CBT, truth be told - I feel like I've only scratched the surface of what I'm capable of here.

As a subset of the sensation play, I'm big into Electrical Play. Again, this is something that I have only a little experience in, and would love to explore a little more. This is, unfortunately, one of those parts of BDSM that's quite expensive to get into properly, but I have faith in getting right into it some day! I'm one of those people who really love the sensations that a TENS unit can offer, and I'm even a little into the sort of electrical shocks that, say, electric fences provide. This goes into the whole sensation thing, but it's probably worth shaking out a bit further.

I'm also a big fan of confinement, in it's myriad forms. I especially like being tied up, but I also like being in cages. In fact, I'm writing this post while in a cage! But honestly, there's not much of a limit - put me in leather, put me in rope, wrap me in cling film, no matter how you go about it, as long as my movement's confined, I'm all for it.

One of my biggest turn ons is service. To give my time and my effort to another is a great gift, and being willing to accept it for what it is is incredibly arousing for me. A lot of it is just a natural extension of loving to do chores and such, but there's plenty of other reasons, that I may elaborate on later.

I also love cross-dressing. I like playing as girl for little moments in time. It's one of the reasons I keep my hair long - it means that I can have long, flowing hair, no wig required! :)

I also like animal play. I don't really specify which animal, because when I do do animal play, I'm just a Boy-pet, a weird cat-dog-thing that has it's own rules, and is very insistent on attention!

I also like being exhibitionist - it feeds into the whole wanting attention thing. Of course, the exhibitionism these days isn't something I dwell on too much - I have something akin to a career these days, and I have quite significant trust issues as well, so my exhibitionist tendencies tend to be somewhat mellowed these days.

I'm living and loving orgasm denial. Again, I think it comes back to being confined, but regardless, orgasm denial is a huge, major kink of mine. I even more love the idea of being in physical chastity, being kept in a chastity device. Again, this is something that I'm going to wait until I have more money to pursue further, though.

Too much Service

Sometimes, determination can be silly.

I have this trait, which I'm sure a lot of people have, where I don't tend to listen to my body. I just keep going and going until I'm thoroughly exhausted, rather than pacing myself to get more done.

I talk about this today because I've been working myself silly getting the house clean. I'm having guests over for a party, and those guests include my parents, so of course I'm going crazy trying to make sure the house looks presentable. Since me and Daddy have moved in, we've been slowing working at unpacking everything but it's been slow work, since Daddy's been sick, and I work full-time. So, my plan was to get everything done this weekend and really turn the house into a sparkling place of clean.

Now, I've been working for the past couple of days, trying to get everything done, but there's just too much work. Not letting that get to me, I'm still trying to get everything done, with less and less energy.

This is silly. I'm trying to sprint a marathon!

So, Daddy is going to put me to bed a little early tonight, so I can rest and get everything else done tomorrow. This is important, and it's a lesson I still have to work at learning - I can't serve my Daddy if I've driven myself into the ground with exhaustion. I just can't do everything I want, sometimes I have to decide which services are the important ones.

I'm sure I'll figure out that properly at some point, and on that day Daddy won't have to yell at me to stop for god's sake, and take a rest, even though there's still so much to do.

Of course, I keep saying that. But there's always so much to do!

Birthdays, Service and Community

In a previous post I talked about the surprise I was planning to give my Daddy for his birthday. Yesterday I got to give that surprise to my Daddy, and believe me, it was every bit worth the effort.

It's rare that you get to render your Daddy speechless, but that was pretty much his reaction to me organising with his friends to raise over $2000 for a suit for my Daddy. It just proved to me that this surprise was the very best thing I could have done.

Also, it had the added side effect of bringing my Daddy into greater esteem with his friends - a lot more people remembered his birthday this year than they normally would, and honestly, that makes me almost as happy as the present itself. Part of service should be to add to your Daddy's good name, and not only have I provided him with good publicity in his community, but now they know what kind of a Boy he has serving him.

And everyone knows that a Boy's behaviour reflects upon his Daddy. I hope that he is pleased!

Unrequested Service

The last weekend has been me helping my Daddy move out of his apartment into my share house, and of course I've been the person who has helped through the entire move process. Even if I weren't his boy, I'd drop things to help him out if he asked, but sometimes I go an extra step further.

Yesterday, I had to go back to his place (where I'd parked the car) after dropping off the rental van, and Daddy had asked me to make sure that the vacuum cleaner that his previous housemate had left there got back to her. Well, she wasn't going to be around for an hour or so, as she was out with friends. So, what did I do? I ended up vacuuming around the house. When I got to my Daddy's room, I realised that I couldn't vacuum the room without cleaning it up, so I spent half an hour putting the last bits and pieces in boxes, clearing up the larger pieces of trash into bags. And then I vacuumed the room to perfection.

My Daddy, of course, didn't ask for me to do this. I just went ahead and did it, because I had the time to burn, and, you know, it's vacuuming! It's the one chore in the house that uses a power tool! How can anyone not like vaccuming! But of course, it has the nice benefit that today, when we go back to Daddy's apartment to do the last bits of packing? Daddy won't have to worry about any extra effort - I've predone just about everything he needed to do today. We just have to pick up the last few things.

All just part of the Service!
